“Your Community Cricket Club for Erdington & North Birmingham”

Highcroft and Great Barr Unity was formed in 2003 by the merger of Highcroft CC and Great Barr CC. Based at Highcroft Sports, Social & Community Centre in Erdington, the club provides opportunities to players from the inner city areas of Birmingham. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community oriented club.

Highcroft and Great Barr Unity Cricket Club is one of the last remaining inner city clubs in Birmingham, The club currently operates 2 Saturday sides playing in the Staffordshire League, the first team play in Division 1 and the second team play in division 2 respectively.  We also operate 2 Sunday league sides playing in both the Birmingham Local Leagues and the Lichfield District League. We also participate in the Staffordshire Leagues T20 competition.

We are not just a club that plays cricket but an integral part of the Community offering a variety of entertainment and a friendly and welcoming place to spend time together.

Membership stands at over 150 covering cricket, junior cricket and garden bowls. The club bar is open 7 days a week and provides a variety of entertainment throughout the week.

Planned Home Fixtures for 2017 include:

• 1st XI in the Staffordshire Division 1 (11 home matches).

• 2nd XI in the Staffordshire Division 2 (11 home matches).

• Sunday 1st XI in the Birmingham Local League (8 Home Matches)

• Sunday 2nd XI in the Lichfield District League (8 Home Matches)

• Tuesday’s are reserved for youth cricket

“Our Aspirations”

Our dream is to play in the Birmingham & District Cricket League; The Birmingham league was formed in 1888. The Birmingham & District Cricket League was the first recorded cricket league in the World to take to the field. The League is steeped in history and today enjoys ECB Premier League status.

​

We are currently two steps away from achieving our dream; we look to gain promotion into the Staffordshire Premier League for the season of 2018. As our aspirations grow, so does our club, we have recently acquired a 3rd and 4th team ground for the 2018 season. We also are looking into setting a functional youth setup as well as a Women side for the 2018 season.
